RBFF Visits Phoenix Memory Care Center to Deliver Smile Boxes

The Ryan Blaney Family Foundation visited the memory care facility, BridgeWater at Avondale in Avondale, AZ, prior to the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race. The RBFF stopped by to visit with the residents during their Friday Happy Hour! BridgeWater kicks off their weekend by having a Happy Hour, full of fun, dancing and socialization! Alzheimer’s Association Applauds CMS Decision to Cover PET Imaging for Alzheimer’s Disease Diagnosis

A valuable Alzheimer’s disease diagnostic tool will now be more accessible across the country thanks to a policy change today by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The Alzheimer’s Association applauds CMS for taking action to expand coverage of brain amyloid positron emission tomography (PET) imaging for the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease. In issuing its new policy, CMS said the specific details of the coverage will be made by the Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs). The Alzheimer’s Association urges the MACs to quickly implement broad and equitable coverage for all Medicare beneficiaries.

RBFF Visits STEAM Expo to Talk Concussion and Brain Safety

The Ryan Blaney Family Foundation recently took part in a STEAM Expo at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Students from many local school districts came to the track to learn about science, technology, engineering, arts, agriculture, aviation, aerospace and mathematics. The RBFF brought a booth that taught students about concussions, how important it is to wear a helmet and keep your brain safe and healthy. May 2024, the Ryan Blaney Family Foundation will shift from their usual Topgolf fundraiser to a Pickle Ball fundraiser – Pickle For A Cause! Ryan Blaney “Fund-A-Fellow” Fellows Graduate from UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program

Salisbury, NC – The Ryan Blaney Family Foundation created the “Fund-A-Fellow” program in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Sports Medicine Concussion Program in 2021. Through this initiative, the RBFF provided funding for two postdoctoral fellows to join the Concussion Program in August 2021. The two fellows included Bindal Makwana Mehmel, PhD, and Ted Albrecht, PsyD. Dr. Mehmel joined the program after earning her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Idaho State University and completed an APA-accredited internship at the Bay Pines VA Medical Center in 2021.
