August – Honoring Legacies and Celebrating Wins
August brought much excitement and meaningful moments for the Foundation.
Early in the month, the FDA approved weekly subcutaneous maintenance dosing of Leqembi—a significant step forward in Alzheimer’s treatment. You can learn more about this milestone here: FDA Approves Leqembi Subcutaneous Maintenance Dosing.
On August 2, the 17th Annual Lou Blaney Memorial was held at Sharon Speedway. This year’s race was especially meaningful as we honored both Lou and Kate Blaney. With Kate’s passing in July, we were even more motivated to make the event a success, knowing how deeply she shaped it over the years. Thanks to lap sponsorships, the silent auction, t-shirt sales, and generous donations, the event raised $25,000. We were proud to donate $12,500 each to the Mahoning Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s and the Rowan-Cabarrus Walk to End Alzheimer’s. We know Kate and Lou are with us in spirit, proud of the continued impact this race brings.
August also brought excitement on the track as Ryan captured his second win of the 2025 season at Daytona International Speedway. Charging from 12th place with just three laps to go, Ryan crossed the finish line in thrilling fashion. Relive the race and watch the highlights here: NASCAR Daytona Race Recap.
